Saturday, September 3
Point Reyes Station, 11 am until noon
Chef’s Booth, Point Reyes Farmers Market, Toby’s Feed Barn
Talking Farmsteads, handing out samples inspired by the farms.

Thursday, September 8
University of the Pacific, San Francisco
Master of Arts in Food Studies: Food Writing Class
In which I talk with students about the writing profession & process. Then they write about me. Gulp. Note to self: Bring really good snacks.

Thursday, September 15
The Fork at Point Reyes Farmstead Farm Dinner 5:30  to 8:30 (sold out)
Also at the table: Andrew Zlot, owner of Double 8 Dairy, featured in Farmsteads.
Don’t doubt this will be a delicious dinner prepared by chef Jennifer Luttrell.

Sunday, September 25
Potluck Cookbook Brunch, San Jose (Public party/private residence, reserve here)
Hosted by my friend, the generous Cheryl Sternman Rule, to celebrate the publication of Farmsteads & my dance class buddy Katie Morford‘s latest cookbook, Rise & Shine. Both photographed by my pal Erin Scott. Heads up: Good brunch grub will be had here.

Litquake: Eat, Drink and Be Literary
The Chapel: 777 Valencia Street, San Francisco
Panel discussion on food, farming, and sustainability starts at 4pm; all-day event celebrating food, books, and food books.

Sunday, October 16
The Dance Palace, Point Reyes Station, 3pm
The Future of Farmsteading in West Marin
Moderating panel discussion including local growers, producers, and ranchers hosted by Point Reyes Bookstore.

Saturday, November 12
Shed, Healdsburg, 2 pm to 3 pm
Signing books & sharing tastes from the farmer, winemaker,  and cheese producer behind Pennyroyal Farm in Boonville.

Saturday, November 19
Pie Ranch, Pescadero, noon to 3pm
Signing at the farm stand on the community work day, potluck, barn dance. Farmsteads makes a good gift. Just saying. Also: Pie.

Saturday, November 26
Mrs. Dalloway’s Bookstore, Berkeley, 2 pm to 4 pm
Signing & tastings as part of a day-long event for Indies First/Small Business Saturday. Swing by for some holiday buying & browsing.
