Playing catch up over here post-book launch.

Where are the women chefs in San Francisco, people ask? The answer: Everywhere.

Maybe one day soon the term “female chef” will be as obsolete as waitress and stewardess.

A girl can dream.

A couple of years ago I profiled a cool crew of women working in Oakland, many of them running their own restaurants in a new wave of talent emerging in that town.

This year, I interviewed a ton of sisters in San Francisco about the female chef label, what’s cooking in their kitchens and the challenges they face in the industry.
